We all know that the pandemic has obliterated many industries, hospitality being one of them. One of our very own locals Jenny, had for years dreamt about having her own restaurant, and that soon became a reality with Phat Chicks, fried chicken with a twist located in West Footscray. Unfortunately it didn't take long for lockdown to take its toll on this small business resulting in it shutting its doors for good.

But of course Jenny's passion for cooking didn't end there. After many years of searching for the perfect chilli oil and never being able to find one with the ideal flavour, Jenny experimented with a variety of spices and eventually came up with this Umami flavour bomb!

It's vegan, gluten free and has no MSG! It's jarred with all the gorgeous layers of ingredients and once you have a spoonful, you'll be sure to have a second, third and fourth! The amazing thing about this is that the garlic and shallots somehow remain super crunchy despite being soaked in the jar. The aromas of cumin and peppercorn certainly circle the palate and it would definitely be enjoyed for anyone who enjoys a moderate level of spice.
