Now most loyal customers will know this as the best tofu shop nestled in a suburban street, hidden behind roller doors at an old milkbar store, but Duc Nga Tofu is more than just that. It represents the stories of so many Vietnamese families and their journey to rebuilding their lives in a foreign country after escaping war and working damn hard to provide their children with a better life than what they had.
If you haven't watched it already, you need to see the short docu Tofu Man by local filmaker Andrew Robb which retells the story of how Duc Nga Tofu came to be.
Now back on to the tofu! When you buy it from these guys, you know it's been made fresh and with love. After 27 years of perfecting their craft, you would be hard pressed to find a better product than theirs.
